35mpg on diesel?? Man, that sounds great and all. I just did 700 miles in my wife's Hyundai Santa Fe, averaging 33mpg the whole time. So this isn't exactly a diesel conversion success story, but a fantastic proof of concept.

⁠Beads have been shown NOT to work on wheel balance machines. The argument is the axle needs to be able to move in order for the beads to “do their thing “. So how is it that a 7oz GoPro imbalance can be corrected while on the machine? Balance beads are BS.

What a waste of time and money... sorry, but I do not get it. Hybrid cars only combine the disadvantages of both technologies, but somehow don't bring any real advantage. And a jet powered boat sounds nice in theory, but in reality it is super loud and super slow? But at least you're having fun, so I'm happy for you. Whatever brings you joy, please enjoy it and do not let other people bring you down.

Why add a turbo?? Especially why add one if all it’s doing is doing electricity generation. Why not do a better na engine instead? Turbos add weight complexity heat etc. you clearly had some of those issues too

The people saying the beads don’t work have never installed a tire bigger than 37s with 17 inch or smaller wheels once you get that much rubber it’s pointless to even try to put weights on it the tires are so big they fit spin fast enough to cause any crazy vibration or damage to anything that’s if it’s a good tire

I know nothing about the beads but I know I would never drive on tyres as badly cut up as those nor would I drive at night with sunglasses while not looking at the road.

So if you get 2 Teslas and tow one till the battery runs out then swap over you can drive forever! Geez why didn't Musk think of that? With that and the robo-taxi option you could make $2 million a year! So buying anything but a Tesla would be nuts! 🤣He could call it Tesla PMS and charge an extra $25,000 for it!

yeah.. the majority of pleople dont drive 1k miles let alone 2.7k miles insane! Many pleople drive up to 200 miles only a quite small minority drives up to 500-600 miles and the majority of evs can handle those ranges anyway with a single charge(full charge) the whole thing that we need cars that drive 1k miles its a poor excuse and this is just americans should i mention europeans? they drive less then americans lmao... lets not mention chinese as well.

8:40 One would think that a modern commercial jet engine turbine with a high bypass ratio would draw in comparatively more air, such that in your example, if 80 lbs of air exit the rear, somewhere around 40-60 lbs are getting pulled in the front. If older "cigar" turbines can be imagined as the core of a modern turbofan, and said turbofan has a 10:1 bypass ratio, we can multiply the mass of air drawn through the "cigar" (lets say 5 lbs) up to 50 lbs. I think many airliners' turbofans cruise at an engine pressure ratio (EPS) of ~2.7:1 (so ~37% of the exit pressure is drawn in the front). Curious on anyone's take. Edit: I'm only just getting into this stuff and I'm seeing search results of cruise EPS around 32 - so I'm probably way off

So a hybrid... Have you ever tried tweaking a stock hybrid? I'm talking both engines, adding turbo and running the electric engine over stock parameters. It would be really cool to see something like a Prius, that when you press a button goes into supercharged mode, press again back into EV.

Living in Australia, I had always said a diesel hybrid would work amazingly here! having large distances to travel makes it hard for most electrics, also being a country with a large 4x4 culture, implementing diesel hybrids into Toyota Land cruisers, Hiluxes, etc, would make for a fantastic implementation and transition into electric! Long range, economy, and durability is what we want here. Though we do have regular petrol hybrids, a diesel hybrid ticks all the box's for what I would like to see!
